Located in the centre of Venice just eight minutes’ walk from Saint Mark’s Square or the Rialto Bridge, the L’ALTRAOTTICA shop showcases its own brand of original eyewear. Its bold designs range from classic forms to retro-inspired frames with a modern twist, and ultra-modern models and colours. Handmade from high quality, eco-friendly materials, this range of unique eyewear combines the style of Italian design with the quality of products that are Made in Italy.
The basic form of the frame is machine-cut from a slab of cellulose acetate, an organic and biodegradable material ideal for crafting eyewear that is durable, lightweight, and comfortable to wear. The assembly and finishing are then carried out by hand: heating and forming to give curvature to the frames, insertion of the hinges and the metal components in the stems, smoothing in a tumbler, and polishing.
Made with the same care and attention to detail as the L’ALTRAOTTICA series, the CompositiVe line of eyewear is distinguished by its robust frames made from thick slabs of cellulose acetate produced exclusively for this collection.
